  • WHAT HAPPENED?

It was a nightmarish start for City as they found themselves trailing against Leyton Orient just 16 minutes into the match when Tottenham loanee Jamie Donley decided to try his luck from 40 yards out and was handsomely rewarded for his outrageous effort. Ortega was caught off his line and despite the keeper's best efforts to back pedal in time to keep the ball out, it flew over his head, struck the crossbar and ricocheted off the German to nestle inside the net.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Former Arsenal defender, Keown, was behind the mic for BBC and the commentator kept mispronouncing Ortega as "Orteta". Although City fans were distraught to see their team fall behind, they could not stop laughing at Keown's expense.

  • WHAT THE FANS ARE SAYING

A furious @greg9rovers wanted him sacked: "Martin Keown calling the City keeper "Orteta".... Get him off our screens, @BBCSport we pay our licence fees for this idiot! #BBCSport #FACup."

An attentive @keetj5 wrote: "Martin Keown called Ortega, Orteta & Arteta in the space of 60 seconds lol."

Whereas, a sarcastic @t_manning92 wrote: "Keown calling ortega ‘orteta’ Freudian slip."

    Meanwhile, @tiatto1, wrote: "Orteta?? F*ckin incompetent tw**t!!"

A Liverpool fan, @bigfanofLFC, wrote: "Former Arsenal and Everton player. He's been haunted by Arteta all his life."

    WHAT NEXT FOR MANCHESTER CITY?

It was a tough opening 45 minutes for Pep Guardiola's men at Brisbane Road as they also lost Nico Gonzalez on his club debut to injury after just 20 minutes. The Spanish manager must conjure a trick or two from up his sleeves to save City's sinking season as they face Real Madrid next in a Champions League play-off on Tuesday at Etihad.
