Ssimbwa: We respect Gor Mahia but don't fear them

Sofapaka coach Sam Ssimbwa says his team is ready to face Gor Mahia in a Kenyan Premier League match on Sunday.

Whereas the 2009 champions have signed several players to beef up squad, Gor Mahia have not added any player so far. K'Ogalo have also been hit hard following the exit of Brazilian coach Ze Maria, who resigned on Thursday. Assitant coach Zedekiah 'Zico' Otieno will take charge of this match scheduled for Kinoru Stadium in Meru.

The Ugandan acknowledges the fact that his charges come into the match as underdogs, but that does not mean is side cannot cause an upset. "We are determined to get positive result from them (Gor Mahia). Yes, they are a good side and we do respect them, but we are not afraid of them. This is going to be a tough match for my boys, but as I said earlier, we are going to give our best, we have good, quality players, who can do the job," Ssimbwa told Goal.

Batoto ba Mungu have added a number of new players into their ranks, among them veteran midfielder Hillary Echesa, Timothy Luda and Wesley Onguso. Gor Mahia are currently leading the pack with 27 points, seven more than their opponents.
