Phil Parkinson's Wrexham have fallen to back-to-back league losses for the first time this term after going down 1-0 against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane. Former Republic of Ireland international James McClean has parted company with hometown club Derry City after both parties agreed to cancel his contract with immediate effect. The 37-year-old wideman leaves Brandywell Stadium just nine months after returning from Wrexham following a protracted dispute that kept him sidelined since July.

Wrexham have been fined £75,000 ($99,800) by the EFL, with a third of it suspended, after naming Issa Kabore and Callum O'Hare in matchday squads when neither was eligible.
