Jesse Lingard has been warned by former Manchester United team-mate Anderson that passionate supporters in Brazil will either “love you or hate you”. Brazilian giants Corinthians have made a stunning move in their bid to avoid the drop by appointing Clarence Seedorf as their new head coach. The Dutchman arrives at a time of severe crisis for Timao, who are desperately looking to move away from the relegation zone after enduring an alarming and historic nightmare run of form.

Neymar marked his return from injury in style by coming off the bench to score twice from the spot and rescue a 2-2 draw for Santos against Flamengo on Thursday. The talismanic forward halted the Serie A leaders' winning momentum at Vila Belmiro, providing title rivals Palmeiras with a major boost during a frantic second half.

A major scandal has erupted in the world of South American football coaching as Alejandro Mancuso, former assistant to Diego Maradona, faces allegations of operating a fraudulent licence scheme. The controversy has implicated several high-profile names who reportedly bypassed official channels to obtain their credentials.
