Carolina enters this matchup riding some serious momentum, having strung together back-to-back wins and taking three of their last four. Dave Canales has his squad playing loose and confident, and with the pressure easing, the Panthers suddenly find themselves in a great position to stack another victory here against the 0-6 Jets, who continue to fall short on a weekly basis, most recently losing 13–11 to Denver.

A huge reason for Carolina's surge has been the breakout play of Rico Dowdle. The running back has been on an absolute tear, torching Miami for 206 rushing yards before following it up with a 183-yard performance in last week's 30–27 thriller against Dallas. Over the past two games, Dowdle has looked like one of the most explosive players in the league and has become the heartbeat of this Panthers offense.

For the Jets, Justin Fields continues to be a dual-threat factor, posting 799 passing yards and four touchdowns through the air while adding 235 rushing yards and three scores on the ground. Breece Hall has been the primary option on early downs, racking up 410 yards on 88 carries. If Garrett Wilson is cleared to play, he remains the top receiving option with 36 catches for 395 yards and four touchdowns, while Mason Taylor and Josh Reynolds round out the supporting cast in the passing attack.

On the defensive side, Jamien Sherwood has been flying to the ball with 60 tackles already on the year. Will McDonald IV, who is questionable, has logged two sacks, with Quinnen Williams adding one of his own. Kicker Nick Folk has been flawless at 12-for-12 on field goals, capped by a 58-yard long, and Austin McNamara has been flipping field position with an impressive 47.8-yard punting average. For New York to finally break into the win column, they’ll need cleaner drives, fewer negative plays, and continued involvement from Hall both between the tackles and as a pass-catching threat.

Bryce Young has been solid under center, throwing for 1,150 yards with 10 touchdowns against five interceptions. On the ground, Rico Dowdle has taken control of the backfield with 472 rushing yards and two scores on 81 carries, giving Carolina a true workhorse presence. Tetairoa McMillan has emerged as the go-to target in the passing game, hauling in 27 receptions for 380 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Tight end Tommy Tremble and running back Chuba Hubbard have chipped in as reliable safety valves, especially on quick outs and underneath routes.

The offensive line will be tested again with Taylor Moton sidelined due to an elbow issue, making timing routes and play-action concepts even more critical to keeping the offense in rhythm. Special teams remain a strength, with kicker Ryan Fitzgerald sitting at 10-of-11 on field goal attempts, including a booming 57-yarder. Defensively, Christian Rozeboom leads the unit with 43 tackles, while A’Shawn Robinson has registered a sack and Mike Jackson has come away with an interception. Jets vs Panthers Fantasy Football

Expectations were already scraping the floor for Justin Fields last week, and somehow, he still managed to duck under them. The Jets quarterback turned in a rough outing, completing just 9 of 17 passes (52.9%) for a measly 45 yards — that's 2.6 yards per attempt — while being buried under nine sacks. He salvaged a bit on the ground with 31 rushing yards, but it was another day to forget for NY's offense.

Despite the clunker, defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn insists there's no quarterback controversy brewing, Tyrod Taylor isn't taking over anytime soon. Still, taking Garrett Wilson out of this attack does Fields no favors. The one saving grace remains his legs, giving him some fantasy life as a volatile, boom-or-bust QB who teeters between QB1 upside and QB2 mediocrity. His season reads like a rollercoaster stat line: QB2, QB33, QB4, QB7, QB31, inconsistency personified.

Meanwhile, Breece Hall (11.7 projected W7 fpts) looks set for another workhorse afternoon. Expect him to be fed early and often, much like in Week 6 when he logged 22 carries for 59 yards. That output was more of a defensive anomaly than a trend, so don’t be shocked if he bursts back onto the scene this weekend.

As for Bryce Young (15.2 projected W7 fpts), he's existing simultaneously as both a good and bad quarterback until kickoff decides which version shows up. After torching the Cowboys in Week 6, he's back in his mysterious box waiting to prove which one he truly is against the Jets.

Then there's Rico Dowdle (11.9 projected W7 fpts), who erupted for his second straight monster performance — this one against his old team, Dallas. The Carolina back was everywhere, pacing the Panthers in both rushing and receiving. He bulldozed his way to 183 yards on 30 carries and added 56 yards plus a touchdown through the air.

Carolina rolls into this one riding a wave of confidence after back-to-back victories, powered by Dowdle's dominant running and a rock-steady performance from the special teams unit. The Jets can move the ball with Breece Hall and Justin Fields’ dual-threat ability, but their struggles to close out tight games have been costly week after week. In a matchup that likely leans defensive with limited scoring opportunities, the Panthers’ momentum and reliability in the kicking game could be the difference.
