Jaguars vs Texans Fantasy Football

The 2025 campaign hasn’t exactly taken off yet, with C.J. Stroud (15.9 projected W3 fpts) finishing Weeks 1 and 2 as QB26 (8.7 points) and QB22 (15 points). He connected on just 54.2% of his throws on Monday night. Granted, he’s faced quality opposition, but Houston’s scheme isn’t giving him much of a ceiling at the moment, keeping him firmly in QB2 territory.

Nico Collins (11.6 projected W3 fpts) had a quiet opener (3/25) but bounced back in Week 2 with three grabs for 52 yards and a score. The Texans’ air attack hasn’t shown much juice yet, though Collins has the ability to flip a game in an instant. After surpassing 1,000 yards and seven touchdowns in just 12 games last season, he’s capable of igniting against Jacksonville.

It wasn’t all smooth sailing, but TrevorLawrence (16.3 projected W3 fpts) still managed QB15 numbers (19.2 points) versus Cincinnati in Week 2 despite completing only 57.1% of his passes. The matchup this week is no easier, keeping him in the QB2 range.

Travis Etienne Jr. looks primed for a rebound season. After a modest 2024 (558 yards, two TDs), he's already churned out 214 yards on 30 carries plus five catches for 31 yards and a touchdown. With Brian Thomas Jr. and Travis Hunter yet to find their rhythm, Etienne's workload could be the driving force for Jacksonville’s offense on Sunday.

According to ESPN, Jacksonville have a slight edge with a 51.9% chance of victory, while Houston sits close behind at 47.7%, with the small remainder accounting for a potential tie.

Neither offensive line has inspired much confidence, making this game a test of which quarterback–defense combo you trust more: C.J. Stroud and the Texans’ stingy unit, or Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars’ D. Based on recent form, the safer bet leans toward Houston. Expect their defense to keep Lawrence under duress, creating sacks and at least one takeaway. It may not be a shootout, but the Texans’ superior quarterback play and tougher defense give them the inside track.
