Lucas Herrington, 18, has been one of Major League Soccer’s breakout stars this year, emerging as a defensive standout for the Colorado Rapids. Lionel Messi and Co. remain favorites, but strong starts from Nashville, San Jose and Vancouver have the league nicely poised heading into a long break.

The LA Galaxy got a timely victory, and Inter Miami continued their strong road form in another compelling week of MLS.
