How to watch the Ryder Cup 2025: Schedule, timings, streaming links & more

Individual golfing glory goes out the window with team allegiances the order of the day, well, three days, as the best swingers from either side of the Atlantic go head-to-head at Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, New York. The 45th Ryder Cup gets underway on Friday, September 26, with Luke Donald’s Europeans looking to defend the crown they won in 2023 against Keegan Bradley’s Americans. You won’t want to miss a single tee-shot or putt, and you don’t have to, with live coverage throughout the thrilling three days.

Europe may be the reigning Ryder Cup champions following their victory at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Italy two years ago, but the players representing the stars and stripes at Bethpage State Park will take heart from Team USA's previous two strong performances on home soil. They won 19-9 at Whistling Straits (Wisconsin) in 2021 and 17-11 at Hazeltine (Minnesota) in 2016. Both those USA successes also came off the back of European victories in 2018 and 2014.

Despite the USA holding a 27-15 overall Ryder Cup lead (there have been two ties), the Europeans have upped their game significantly in recent times. Before their back-to-back successes in 1985 & 1987, they had only won three times since the inaugural edition of the contest in 1927, and all those three early wins (1929, 1933 & 1957) came on European soil. Since their first victory in America in 1987, Europe has claimed the trophy on ten occasions and famously celebrated winning 6 times in 7 campaigns between 2002 and 2014.

Luke Donald is attempting to become the first skipper to lead a team to back-to-back triumphs (and win multiple Ryder Cups in general) since Tony Jacklin in 1987. Donald’s Europeans arrive in New York with plenty of experience in their ranks. Rory McIlroy is involved in his 8th Ryder Cup campaign, while Justin Rose is competing in his 7th this time around. There are also four other players lining up for the visitors who have taken part in three previous Ryder Cups.

Team USA, on the other hand, has gone down the youthful route. While Europe only has one rookie, Rasmus Højgaard, making his competition debut, the Americans have four: J. J. Spaun, Russell Henley, Ben Griffin, and Cameron Young. Keegan Bradley, who at 39 years old is the youngest Ryder Cup captain since Arnold Palmer in 1963, also only has one player, Justin Thomas, who has competed in more than two previous Ryder Cup quests.

Let GOAL show you all the vital information you need ahead of the first tee-off in this year’s Ryder Cup, including which players are lining up in search of team glory and where you can watch all the live action over the three days of competition.

The Bethpage Black Course is a public golf course at Bethpage State Park on Long Island, New York. It is the most difficult of Bethpage's five courses, and is known for the warning sign at the first tee, placed in the early 1980s, which reads 'WARNING: The Black Course is an extremely difficult course which we recommend only for highly skilled golfers'. The course has hosted several major championships in recent years, including the U.S. Open (2002 & 2009) and the PGA Championship (2019).

Opened in 1936, the Black Course was designed by Bethpage State Park superintendent Joseph H. Burbeck, who was also responsible for the park's Blue and Red Courses, which had opened in the previous decade. In 1972, the course record was set by Mal Galletta Jr. when he shot a 65. That record score would last almost 50 years, until 2019, when Brooks Koepka fired an astonishing 63 in the opening round of the PGA Championship, en route to claiming his fourth Major.

This will be the second time New York has been selected as the Ryder Cup host state, following the 1995 edition, which was staged at Oak Hill Country Club and won by Europe, 14.5-13.5.
