Despite a dwindling fan base in Guadalajara most evident by low attendance numbers every two weeks, a marketing study has found that Chivas is the second-most followed club in the world.

Euromericas Sport Marketing released a document crowning Brazilian club Flamengo as the team with the most amount of worldwide fans following an extensive survey, with 39.1 million located mostly in South America. The Rio de Janeiro club is known locally as "Brazil's most loved club," in a country that totals over 192 million inhabitants.

Chivas was listed as the next team on that list, with 33.8 million fans. Rivals Club América sits third, with 29.4 million. Rounding out the top four is another Brazilian team, Corinthians, which boasts 28 million.

On social network sites, Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona were found to have the most amount of followers. According to Euroamericas, Corinthians, Flamengo, Boca Juniors, Chivas and America  have the most amount of fans in that regard in the Latin American market.
