Seattle Sounders v Real Salt Lake Betting Tips: Latest odds, team news, preview and predictions

Seattle Sounders will be hoping to move away from the foot of the Western Conference table when they welcome Real Salt Lake to CenturyLink Field on Saturday.

Brian Schmetzer's team are currently alone above bottom spot on goal difference, although they have played at least one game fewer than every other side in the division.

Latest Odds

Having taken four points from their last two home games, they are 10/19 (1.53) favourites with SportPesa to make up some ground by coming out on top in this one.

With only one point to their name from a possible 18 on the road this campaign, the Claret and Cobalt are 19/4 (5.75) outsiders to claim a victory here.

None of the previous 14 league encounters between these sides have resulted in draws, but you can get odds of 16/5 (4.20) on them cancelling each other out in this one.

Team News

Jordan Morris, Osvaldo Alonso, Victor Rodriguez, and Will Bruin are among the long injury list for the hosts.

Roman Torres, Gustav Svensson and Nicolas Lodeiro are all also unavailable as they are with their respective national squads for the World Cup.

Meanwhile, Mike Petke is without Tony Beltran, Jordan Allen, Alex Horwath, Shawn Barry, Luke Mulholland and Demar Phillips, while Joao Plata faces a late fitness test.

No cutting edge

Given their recurring injury problems so far, it is perhaps no surprise that a team that finished runners-up in last season's play-off final has struggled to get going this campaign.

A lack of cutting edge in attack has also been a main factor in this underperformance, with the Sounders' goal difference reading a disappointing -4 despite conceding just 11 times in their nine matches so far.

With another injury to Bruin likely to leave the 35-year-old Clint Dempsey playing up front by himself once again, it would be a surprise if they provided much goalmouth action on Saturday.

Predictions

Considering Real Salt Lake have only scored four goals in their six away matches this season, odds of 6/5 (2.20) seem generous on under 2.5 goals being scored for the third successive encounter between this pair.
