Norway v Northern Ireland Betting: Few opportunities as Green and White Army dream of World Cup

Northern Ireland will be hoping to bounce back from a 3-1 home defeat by Germany when they head to Norway for their final World Cup qualification clash on Sunday.

That loss was a first in 10 competitive fixtures on home turf for Michael O’Neill’s men, who can be backed at 21/10 (3.10) with bet365 to get straight back to winning ways in Oslo.

However, Drillos secured their biggest win since 1992 by seeing off San Marino in their last fixture on Thursday, and are on offer at 5/4 (2.25) to follow that up with another victory in this one.

None of the last four encounters between these sides have resulted in draws, but there are odds of 12/5 (3.40) available on them cancelling each other out on this occasion.

While second place is already in the bag, the Green and White Army may still need a result at the Ullevaal Stadion in order to ensure they enter the play-offs as one of the eight best runners-up from the nine Uefa groups.

Aware that a point would be enough to take their place in the next stage, the guests are not likely to take any chances in a typically compact and resolute performance.

Yet to concede against anyone but Germany in Group C so far, O’Neill’s team should back themselves to keep at bay a side that has scored just four times in seven matches against nations other than whipping boys San Marino so far.

However, with all three of the goals they have scored in four away games coming against Azerbaijan and San Marino, a cautious Northern Ireland outfit are unlikely to provide too much of a threat at the other end of the pitch either.

With this in mind, odds of 7/10 (1.70) seem relatively generous on no more than one side finding the net for the fourth consecutive encounter between the teams.

Both teams to score: No at 7/10 (1.70) for a 2pt stake with bet365
