Low remains 'extremely disappointed' in Arsenal star Ozil

Joachim Low admits that he remains "extremely disappointed" in Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil.

The Gunners star retired from international duty after the intense disappointment that was the nation's World Cup campaign, as they were eliminated at the group stages.

Ozil released a three-part statement explaining his decision - citing the reaction to his meeting with controversial president of Turkey, Recep Erdogan - but Low claims that he was not aware of the midfielder's decision.

Low said in September that he was disheartened by Ozil's decision to rebuff talks with him, as he visited Arsenal's training ground.

He is believed to have also held discussions with Bernd Leno and Shkodran Mustafi but Ozil was not present at the time.

"Mesut was not [at the training ground], so we have to accept that he does not want to talk to us at the moment. I do not know the reasons," Low said in quotes reported by German media.

And he has now again claimed that he is unhappy with the way Ozil has conducted himself.

"I was extremely disappointed that he did not personally inform me," he said, per  Aktuelle Sportstudio .

"Everyone knows that I'm always ready to talk, but that's one of them two in addition.

"There was" no signal "from Ozil.

"I would have liked it differently, but if it has to be that way now, then it is so."

Ozil had won 92 caps for Germany prior to his retirement, scoring 23 goals, and also winning the World Cup in 2014.

He has played 12 games in total thus far this season for the Gunners, scoring four goals, but has been ruled out of the club's last three Premier League games due to a back injury.
