Upamecano admits to talks with other clubs


RB Leipzig star Dayot Upamecano has admitted to holding talks with other clubs despite recently penning a contract extension.

The 21-year-old has been linked with a move to Manchester United, Arsenal and Real Madrid, and has been rewarded for his strong form with a maiden France call-up.

The defender signed a new deal with Leipzig at the end of July, taking him through to 2023.

Messi's father set for showdown talks with Bartomeu


Lionel Messi's father will meet Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu on Wednesday for talks over his son's future, reports ESPN.

Jorge Messi, who is also his son's agent, will demand Barca allow his son to leave the club for free amidst an ongoing dispute over his contract.

Messi is hoping to opt out of his current deal unilaterally, having declared his intention to do so last week. Barca, though, insist his deal is still valid and any interested club would have to meet his €700 million (£624m/$823m) release clause.

D.C. United eye Higuain and Sigurdsson moves


D.C. United are considering moves for Gonzalo Higuain and Gylfi Sigurdsson, according to the Athletic.

The MLS side, who currently employ Higuain's older brother Federico, have made an approach after Juventus told the striker he is not in the club's plans.

DCU have also held discussions with Sigurdsson's representatives, with the Icelandic midfielder under contract at Everton through 2022.

Wilson wants Newcastle move


Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson is hoping to join Newcastle, according to the Daily Mail.

After the Cherries were relegated last term, Wilson wants to stay in the Premier League and movement is expected on a deal in the next 48 hours.

Newcastle are also tracking Wilson's former team-mate Ryan Fraser, who is a free agent after leaving Bournemouth.

Reine-Adelaide looking for a way out of Lyon


Lyon midfielder Jeff Reine-Adelaide has confirmed he is looking to force an exit from the Ligue 1 side. 

The 22-year-old hit out at Lyon's coaching staff and board over his lack of minutes since returning from a knee injury this summer.

Reine-Adelaide moved to Lyon in August 2019 from fellow Ligue 1 outfit Angers.

Barca looking to sell Collado and Monchu


Barcelona are looking to sell B-team stars Alex Collado and Monchu, reports Marca

Barcelona B failed to achieve promotion to the Segunda Division last season, which will result in several changes to the squad.

Valencia, Genoa and Sassuolo are thought to be interested in Monchu, while Collado has also drawn interest from several clubs.

West Brom in pursuit of Huddersfield's Grant


West Brom are in talks with Huddersfield Town over a deal for Karlan Grant, reports Sky Sports.

The 22-year-old forward scored 16 times for the Terriers in the Championship last season.

The club is looking to get £16 million ($21m) out of a deal for the forward.

Leicester are set to sign Timothy Castagne, according to Fabrizio Romano. 

The Belgian is set to join from Atalanta, having helped the club progress to the Champions League knockout stages.

Atalanta will sign Rick Karsdorp on loan from Roma as Castagne's replacement.

Greenwood on Van de Beek: He looks like a good player


Mason Greenwood has endorsed Manchester United's pursuit of Donny van de Beek as the club remains in pursuit of the Ajax star.

Greenwood says that he sees the Dutchman as a "good, promising player" that can help the club.

Minnesota add Boca star Reynoso


Minnesota United have signed Emanuel Reynoso from Boca Juniors, the club announced.

Reynoso, who signs via a Designated Player contract, made 45 appearances across two seasons for the Argentine giants before making the move to MLS.

“I like the league a lot because it’s growing every day,” said Reynoso. “When I found out about the club’s interest, I started to do some research on the club and the organization as a whole, and I didn’t doubt that I would like the city and the club very much.

"Once I got here and got an up-close look at the team, I had no doubt this was a great league. My hope is to connect with the team quickly, place my little grain of sand to keep this team moving forward and together we’ll accomplish great things for this organization."

N'Golo Kante is hoping to remain at Chelsea despite links to Inter.

The French midfielder is a rumoured target of former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, who is looking to strengthen his squad and challenge Juventus in Serie A.

Celtic set to announce Duffy signing


Celtic are set to announce the signing of Shane Duffy on a season-long loan from Brighton, according to the Daily Record.

The defender grew up supporting Celtic and will link up with his new team after returning from international duty with Ireland.

West Brom and West Ham were also interested in signing the 28-year-old.

Talksport reports that Manchester United are expecting Roma to make a bid for Chris Smalling imminently, with the defender keen on a return to Italy.

With the Red Devils preparing a move for RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano, Smalling knows his first-team chances may be limited at Old Trafford next season.

The 30-year-old spent last season on loan at the Giallorossi and is ready to make a permanent move to the Italian capital should they lodge an acceptable offer with United.

White signs new Brighton deal


Brighton defender Ben White has signed a new four-year contract with the Seagulls. 

White starred on loan with Leeds last season, and Brighton turned down three bids from the newly promoted side in order to keep the 22-year-old.

“He had a brilliant season helping Leeds to the title last season, and now he has the opportunity to show his qualities in the Premier League," Brighton manager Graham Potter said.

Tonali agrees new Brescia deal


Calciomercato reports that Sandro Tonali has signed a new contract at Brescia - though he is still likely to leave the club.

AC Milan have reportedly agreed a deal for the 20-year-old midfielder, who has been compared to Italian great Andrea Pirlo.

By extending his Brescia deal by another year through to 2023, it is likely to be part of the agreement that will ultimately see the youngster join the Rossoneri.

Dortmund youngster Sergio Gomez has returned to Huesca on a season-long loan.

The 19-year-old spent last season on loan at the Spanish club, helping them earn promotion to La Liga as Segunda Division champions.

Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Gabriel Magalhaes from Lille.

The defender arrives in a £25 million ($33 million) deal and has signed a five-year contract with the Gunners.

Kepa to fight for Chelsea place


Kepa Arrizabalaga wants to stay at Chelsea and fight for his place even if they sign a new goalkeeper, reports the Telegraph.

The Spaniard made a number of high-profile errors last season and was dropped on more than one occasion by manager Frank Lampard, who has been linked with a number of replacements this summer.

Edouard Mendy of Rennes is believed to be high on Lampard's wanted list, but even if he does arrive, Kepa has no intention of quitting Stamford Bridge just yet.

'No one has talked about Messi' - Garcia


Manchester City players have not discussed the prospect of Lionel Messi joining the club from Barcelona despite rumours he could make a move to the Etihad Stadium, says defender Eric Garcia.

City are one of a handful of clubs reported to be in contention to sign Messi, with a reunion with former Barca boss Pep Guardiola an obvious attraction.

Paris Saint-Germain have expressed interest in signing Inter defender Milan Skriniar, according to Calciomercato.

Inter are willing to cash-in on the Slovakia international after a revival in form by Diego Godin towards the end of last season meant his first-team chances may be limited next campaign.

The French champions meanwhile are on the lookout for a new defender after Thiago Silva left for Chelsea, though they are likely to face competition from Tottenham for Skriniar's signature.

Sevilla re-sign Rakitic from Barcelona for €1.5m


Sevilla have re-signed Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic from Barcelona for an initial fee of €1.5 million.

The final transfer could end up costing Sevilla a total of €10 million (£9m/$12m) including variables, with Rakitic committing to a four-year contract with the club.

The 32-year-old won 15 major trophies in total at Barca, including four La Liga titles and the Champions League, having moved to Camp Nou from Sevilla in the summer of 2014.

Newcastle and Aston Villa are both chasing the signature of Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson - according to Sky Sports.

The Magpies are willing to include former Cherries midfielder Matt Ritchie in any possible deal for the 28-year-old, while Villa are preparing to launch a straight cash offer.

Wilson, who has scored 67 goals in 180 outings for Bournemouth, has also been linked with Tottenham and West Ham.

Lionel Messi has been urged to "reconsider" his transfer plans by former Barcelona vice-president Jordi Mestre, who has insisted that "the best player in history does not leave with a burofax".

Speculation over Messi's future at Camp Nou has been raging since his decision to submit a format a formal transfer request on August 25.

The six-time Ballon d'Or winner chose to inform Barca of his intention to leave via burofax, a court-recognised service provided by the Spanish post which allows the sending of secure documents.

Bayern in talks to sign Perisic on permanent deal


Bayern Munich are in talks to sign Ivan Perisic on a permanent deal - according to Bild.

The Croatian winger spent the 2019-20 season on loan at Allianz Arena from Inter, and Hansi Flick wants him to remain on the European champions' books for the foreseeable future.

Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is personally overseeing negotiations for Perisic, who scored seven goals in 35 matches for the club last term.

Newcastle and Villa battle for Wilson


Newcastle and Aston Villa are both in talks with Bournemouth over a deal for striker Callum Wilson, according to Sky Sports.

The England international seems certain to leave the Cherries this window after their relegation from the Premier League.

The Magpies are trying to negotiate a part-exchange deal involving former Bournemouth player Matt Ritchie, while Villa are in talks over a straight cash transfer.

Manchester United still need four or five more players to challenge the elite again, including a "world-class centre-back", according to Gary Neville.

United improved on a dismal sixth-place finish in 2018-19 by securing third place in the Premier League and Champions League qualification last season.

Leeds United have personal terms with Udinese forward Rodrigo De Paul, according to Football Insider.

The newly-promoted Whites have offered the 26-year-old a long-term deal that will see him handed a big pay-rise compared to his current contract.

Marcelo Bielsa's side have yet to agree a fee with Udinese, but remain in talks with the Serie A club and are confident of reaching an agreement.

Juventus are ready to step up their interest in Barcelona's Luis Suarez after moves for other forward targets stalled, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Bianconeri are keen to add a striker to their squad this summer and hoped to land Edin Dzeko from Roma, but the deal has been held up because talks over the Giallorossi's intended replacement, Arkadiusz Milik of Napoli, have also stalled.

That delay has forced Juve to consider other targets, with Suarez now high on their shortlist after he was told he could leave Barca by new boss Ronald Koeman.

Upamecano next on Man Utd wanted list


Manchester United will target RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano after they have sealed a deal for Ajax's Donny van der Beek, reports The Times.

The Red Devils have agreed a £40 million ($53m) fee with Ajax for Van der Beek and hope to complete the transfer in the coming days.

Once that deal is one they will look to complete a £37.5 million ($50m) deal for Upamecano, with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen to recruit a partner for Harry Maguire in the heart of the United defence.

Arsenals' Ozil receives lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia


The Daily Mail reports that Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has received a lucrative offer from Al-Nassr.

The Saudi Arabian club are willing to pay the German £15 million ($20m) per season, with his current contract set to expire next summer.

Ozil is no longer a part of Mikel Arteta's starting XI at Arsenal, who are thought to be open to a sale.

Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for the former Barcelona player, but no agreement has been reached so far.

PSG set sights on Inter midfielder Brozovic


Paris Saint-Germain have identified Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic as a transfer target - according to Le 10 Sport

Bayern Munich are also interested in the Croatia international, but they will have to sell a couple of players to fund a swoop for his services.

PSG are already in a position to submit a bid for Brozovic, as they look for cover for the injured Marco Verratti.

Beckham contacts Higuain over Inter Miami move


Inter Miami owner David Beckham has made contact with Juventus to discuss a possible deal for Gonzalo Higuain - according to Calcio Mercato.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star has sounded out the Argentine over a move to MLS, but his current salary could be a sticking point in any further negotiations.

Higuain currently earns €7.5m per season at Juve, whose new manager Andrea Pirlo has made it clear that the 32-year-old will not be in his plans for the new season.

Milan & Everton interested in Barca's Emerson


Barcelona full-back Emerson is the subject of interest from both Milan and Everton - according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Rossoneri have submitted an €18 million (£16m/$22m) bid for the 21-year-old, while the Toffees have enquired about a two-year loan deal.

Barca are likely to hold out for a fee of €32 million (£29m/$38m) for Emerson, who joined the club last summer before being loaned out to Real Betis.

PSG have started making a move to sign Inter defender Milan Skriniar with a void to fill after the departure of Thiago Silva.

Di Marzio reports that while the Ligue 1 champions haven't submitted a bid for Skriniar yet, intermediaries have started the discussion process.

Thiago Silva recently completed a move to Chelsea on a free transfer leaving PSG in need of defensive reinforcements.

Aston Villa are set to sign Brentford star Ollie Watkins as they attempt to boost their attack after nearly being relegated last season.

The Sun reports that the Bees have signed Watkins' replacement Ivan Toney, paving the way for Villa to sign the 24-year-old striker in a £22 million deal.

West Ham are in the market to sign free agent Mario Gotze, with Monaco and Roma also chasing the playmaker.

The 28-year-old is available after leaving Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season and the Premier League side see him as an option to improve their attack, according to the Express.

Gotze scored the winning goal in the 2014 World Cup final but has struggled to kick on in his career since a myopathy diagnosis in 2017.

Antonio Conte is looking to poach three players from his former side

Inter are looking to sign N'Golo Kante from Chelsea as their coach Antonio Conte plans a raid of his former side.

The Express reports the Blues have slapped an £80 million ($107m) price tag on Kante as they look to recoup funds spent on big money signings Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Ben Chilwell - and with Kai Havertz set to arrive imminently.

Conte, who managed Chelsea to the Premier League title in 2016-17, also wants to sign full-back Emerson Palmieri and Olivier Giroud from the Nerazzurri.

Roma are considering making a play for Atletico Madrid defender Nehuen Perez after the departure of Chris Smalling.

With Smalling returnng to Manchester United, the Giallorossi are looking to sign a replacement with Perez at the top of the list, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at Argentine side Famalicao.

Brahim Diaz will join AC Milan imminently from Real Madrid on a one-year loan deal, according to Sky Sport journalist Matteo Moretto.

The 21-year-old midfielder has struggled to break into Los Blancos' first team since joining from Manchester City in January 2019.

Diaz has made 21 appearances for Real in all competitions across one-and-half seasons.
