Fiorentina in line for American takeover

Rocco Commisso, an Italian-American billionaire, is nearing a deal to purchase Fiorentina, according to the New York Times.

Commisso, who was born in Italy but moved to the U.S. when he was 12, currently owns the New York Cosmos of the semi-professional National Premier Soccer League.

The 69-year-old failed in a bid to purchase AC Milan last year, but appears close to taking over the Viola instead. 

Napoli consider Quagliarella move

Napoli are considering a move for Sampdoria striker Fabio Quagliarella, according to Corriere dello Sport. 

Despite being 36, Quagliarella has sparked transfer interest with an incredible season that saw him finish as top scorer in Serie A with 26 goals. 

Napoli have yet to make an outreach over a transfer, but Quagliarella could be in line to return to a club he played for between 2009 and 2010.

Liverpool look to snatch Pedro from Watford

Liverpool are interested in 17-year-old Fluminense striker Joao Pedro, according to Globoesporte.

The forward has agreed to join Watford in January but because he is under 18, other teams are able to swoop in and sign him before he joins the Hornets. 

Though it would cost €20 million (£18m/$22m) to break the agreement with Watford, Liverpool and other European giants may be willing to pay that price. 

Qatar in talks over Leeds takeover

Qatar is in talks to buy a stake in Championship side Leeds United, according to the Financial Times. 

Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has been in talks with Qatar Sports Investments, which also owns Paris Saint-Germain.

Radrizzani has been speaking with at least six different potential investors, meaning QSI's takeover is by no means assured.

Lampard nears Chelsea return as Juve close in on Sarri

Juventus are set to make a formal approach for Maurizio Sarri, clearing the way for Frank Lampard to take over at Chelsea, according to The Sun.

Chelsea will demand £5 million in compensation for Sarri, an amount Juve are happy to pay as they look to bring the former Napoli boss back to Serie A

Sarri's exit would clear the way for Chelsea to appoint club legend Lampard, who has impressed in his first season as Derby County manager.

Rivaldo advises Rakitic to snub Man Utd

Former Barcelona star Rivaldo has advised Ivan Rakitic to turn down a move to Manchester United.

Rakitic has been linked with a move to Old Trafford, with Frenkie de Jong's summer arrival potentially cutting into his playing time. 

But Rivaldo believes the Croatian still has plenty of football in him at the top level, and wants him to snub United as he once did.

The ongoing confusion surrounding Rafa Benitez's future on Tyneside is not helping matters, and there is also a suggestion that the lack of a release clause in the 21-year-old's current contract gives the Magpies the upper hand.

Newcastle are adamant that Longstaff, who has been scouted vigorously since making his first-team breakthrough this season, is not for sale.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has refused to be drawn on speculation suggesting Gareth Bale could make a dramatic return to the North London club. 

The Real Madrid winger has found himself out of favour under Zinedine Zidane at the Bernabeu, and continues to be linked with a move back to the Premier League.

However, Pochettino said: "He is a Real Madrid player. He still has three years on his contract at Madrid. It’s a situation that isn’t easy for him and isn’t easy for the club.”

Manchester City and Manchester United summer target Joao Felix has said he will "let things happen naturally" as speculation surrounding his Benfica future continues to grow.

The 19-year-old attacker, who has also been linked with Juventus and Real Madrid, told his club's official website: "I think that time will tell."

The teenager's contract is understood to include a release clause of £105m.

Wilson willing to make Derby switch if Rams can clinch promotion

Inter reach agreement with Edin Dzeko

According to Sky Sport in Italy, they will now try to do the same with his current club Roma, with the former Manchester City forward expected to sign a two-year contract with an option for a third season.

The Danish star has been linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid as he continues to stall on signing a new deal with Spurs.

Lennon offered Celtic job on a permanent basis after landing another treble

Interim Celtic boss Neil Lennon has been offered the job on a permanent basis after steering the club to victory in the Scottish Cup final against Hearts.

Celtic chiefs confirmed the offer via the club's official Twitter account, saying "details will be confirmed in the coming days".

Hoops captain Scott Brown also backed Lennon to take the job on full-time in the wake of their 2-1 victory at Hampden Park on Saturday afternoon.

"He's been fantastic since coming in," Brown told the Daily Record after the Glasgow side had landed their third domestic treble in a row. "He came in to win a league and a cup and he's done that."

Mourinho has been out of work since being sacked by Manchester United in December, though he's been linked with several jobs since then.

West Ham land teenage Hungarian goalkeeper

West Ham have announced the signing of 16-year-old goalkeeper Krisztian Hegyi from ​Hungarian club Haladas.

The 16-year-old made his U-18 debut with the Hammers in April and recently helped Hungary qualify for the U-17 World Cup.

“Krisztian is one of the most highly-rated goalkeepers of his age in Europe and it is a real coup to be able to bring him to the club," first-team goalkeeping coach Xavi Valero told the club's official website. 

Rojo claims Solskjaer wants him to stay

Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo has said that ​Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told him that he is in his plans at Old Trafford. 

The Argentine made just six appearances in 2018-19, leading to speculation that he could be leaving the club.

Milan lining up Jardim

AC Milan are lining up Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim as a possible replacement for Gennaro Gattuso, as reported by Corriere dello Sport.

The Portuguese led the team from the principaility to a shock Ligue 1 title win in 2017, as well as to the Champions League semi-final, and is currently in his second spell at the club after replacing the ill-fated Thierry Henry.

The deal, being orchestrated by agent Jorge Mendes and Milan chief executive Ivan Gazidis, could also see Gattuso move in the opposite direction. 

Napoli set to resist Real bid for Koulibaly

Sarri identifies Higuain for Juve

The Argentine is still a registered Juve player despite having spent the last 12 months on loan, first at AC Milan and then at Chelsea, where he has worked with Sarri since January.

The Blues boss is thought to be the leading candidate to replace Max Allegri, who announced in May that he will stand down from the Serie A champions.

The magnate has held discussions in recent weeks with representatives of the Della Valle family, which has owned Fiorentina since 2002.

Rojo admits to turning down Boca Juniors

Los Blancos have yet to meet the Blues valuation of their star forward.

Chelsea have demanded £112m (€127m/$142m) for Eden Hazard, but Real Madrid's current offer stands at about £86m (€97.5m/$109m), according to the Mirror.

The Belgian wants his transfer to the Spanish captial tied up within a week of the Europa League final, but there is still plenty of haggling to be done.

Hazard managed 16 goals and 15 assists in his 37 Premier League appearances this season.

Tuchel expects PSG stay

Thomas Tuchel has stated that he expects to remain in charge of Paris Saint-Germain despite their poor form at the end of the season.

PSG won the Ligue 1 title, but crashed out of the Champions League and Coupe de la Ligue early, as well as losing the Coupe de France final to Rennes on penalties.
