Latest Premier League odds: Cardiff City 9/1 for a top half finish after securing automatic promotion

The race for the second automatic promotion spot in the Championship went down to the wire. In the end though, Cardiff City's 0-0 draw with Reading was enough to see off the challenge of Fulham who couldn't better their result at Birmingham City.

Neil Warnock once again proved his skill in ensuring promotion, achieving the feat for the eighth time in his managerial career. The question now, is how the Bluebirds will fare in the top-flight?

bet365 have installed Cardiff as 2000/1 shots to win the Premier League, the biggest price currently on offer in their 2018-19 winner market. However, it's worth noting that this market doesn't currently include several of the relegation threatened teams because of the questions over their participation.

In fact, the Bluebirds are far from being written off ahead of next season by the odds compilers. bet365 have priced the Welsh side as 4/5 (1.80) shots to remain in the top-flight and Evens (2.0) to make an immediate return to the Championship.

The same firm are 9/1 (10.0) about Cardiff achieving a top half finish in the 2018-19 campaign, while it's 66/1 (67.0) that they finish inside the top six places.

Cardiff City Premier League odds from bet365

Leicester's fairy-tale Premier League victory two years ago will have some fans of the promoted clubs dreaming of a similar run to glory and it's 300/1 (301.0) that Cardiff achieve a top four spot and the aforementioned 2000/1 that they go all the way and win the title.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are expected to make an even bigger impression on the Premier League next season. bet365 have Wolves as 7/4 (2.75) shots for a top half finish, 20/1 (21.0) for a top six spot and 66/1 (67.0) to finish in the Champions League qualification places.

Having amassed 99 points in their run to the Championship title this term, Wolves are available at 400/1 (401.0) to win the Premier League next season as the bookmakers expect another summer of high-profile arrivals in the West Midlands.
