Ibrahimovic & Sweden set new Euro record - for all the WRONG reasons

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Sweden have made European Championship history for all the wrong reasons after Friday’s 1-0 defeat to Italy.

Erik Hamren’s side are in danger of crashing out at the group stage having registered just a point against Republic of Ireland, while they face Belgium in their final game next Wednesday.

On Friday, Sweden delivered another insipid performance against Italy and were beaten by Eder’s strike in the 88th minute.

And in their defeat, Sweden became the first side in history not to have registered a shot on target in their first two games of a European Championship tournament.

The misfiring Scandinavians are now also the first team since 1980 to play two consecutive games in the European Championship without directing a single shot on target.
