Gonzalo Higuain had more reason to celebrate his brace to down Monaco than usual, as he ended an incredible run of four years without finding the net in a Champions League knockout tie.
The Argentine was played in twice by Dani Alves and finished sublimely on each occasion to score both of Juventus' goals in a dominant semi-final first leg win.
In doing so, he scored in the knockouts for the first time since way back in April 2013.
Higuain delivers for classy Juve
Higuain's last goal in the decisive phases of the Champions League had come while still in the shirt of Real Madrid, for whom he netted in an easy 3-0 win over Galatasaray.
Indeed, he had managed just two knock-out goals in 24 games before kick off on Wednesday, a number that has now ascended to four in 25.
It seems clear, however, that the burly striker enjoys meeting opponents from the country of his birth, France.
His last double in the Champions League had also come against Ligue 1 opposition, in the shape of Marseille during the 2013-14 competition.
And he has now set a personal best in the competition after netting his fourth and fifth goals, a mark he had never before reached.
