Harambee Stars gains in latest Fifa rankings

Kenya's Harambee Stars has moved two places up in latest Fifa rankings released on Thursday.

The national team is now placed in the 87th position up from the 89th place with 396 points. This comes despite the fact that the national side has been dormant in the past one month. Uganda drops one place to 73rd position with 476 points but still remains the highest ranked nation in East Africa. Rwanda is in the 93rd position, Ethiopia 112, Sudan 137, Burundi 139.

Tanzania is in the 156 position while South Sudan is in the 168th position. The top five nations in Africa are Senegal (33), Ivory Coast (34), Egypt (35), Tunisia (36) and Algeria (39). The top 34 positions remain unchanged with Argentina, Brazil and Germany still holding first, second and third places respectively.

Swaziland reached its best ever position in the Fifa/Coca-Cola World Ranking (99, up 1). The next ranking will be published on 9 February 2017.
