FIFA U-17 WORLD CUP 2017: TURKEY ANNOUNCE 21-MEMBER SQUAD

Turkey has announced its 21-member squad for the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup to be held in India from October 6 to 28.

The Turkish side has made two appearances at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in the years 2005 and 2009.  The current crop of players selected for the tournament will now embark on a preparatory tour to Doha in Qatar before making their journey to India for the mega-event. The side is set to play two preparatory games in Qatar.

The announced 21-member squad comprises of three goalkeepers, seven defenders, seven midfielders and four forwards all born in the year 2000. What is interesting to see is that Malik Karaahmet, the key player for the Turkish side as identified by Goal, has made it into the final 21-member squad.

Goalkeepers: Berke Özer, Ozan Can Oruç and Eren Bilen

Defenders: Şahan Akyüz, İsmail Çokçalış, Abdussamed Karnuçu, Bekir Melih Gökçimen, Ozan Muhammet Kabak, Ramazan Emirhan Civelek and Berk Çetin

Midfielders: Egehan Gök, Kerem Atakan Kesgin, Atalay Babacan, Recep Gül, Sezer Taşkolu, Sefa Akgün and Umut Güneş

Forwards: Embiya Ayyıldız, Yunus Akgün, Malik Karaahmet and Ahmed Kutucu

Galatasaray are the most represented club at Mexico U-17 National Team, with seven players of their players on their way to India.

The Turkish U-17's will be part of Group B alongside Paraguay, Mali and New Zealand.
