FIFA Ranking: India national team placed at 129 in the world

The Indian national team, under Stephen Constantine, are ranked 129th in the world, as per the latest Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) rankings, published on Thursday.

India currently have a total of 243 points, which is higher than their previous figure of 217.

This meant that The Blue Tigers moved up six places on the table as per the January edition of FIFA World Rankings.

India are now 19th in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) list in the rankings.

Among the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) members, Maldives are now placed 145th, Bangladesh 190th, Nepal 175th, Bhutan 176th, Sri Lanka 196th and Pakistan 197th; as India continue to dominate the rankings among its neighbours.

The best mover in this edition was Suriname (128), who climbed 22 places, with the worst movers being Afghanistan (151), Bangladesh (190), Mauritania (113), Trinidad and Tobago (83) - all dropping by five ranks respectively.
