The former People's Elephants tactician will rejoin the seven-time Nigeria champions for the third time following Gbenga Ogunbote’s exit

Coach Paul Aigbogun has been reappointed technical adviser of Nigeria Professional Football League side Enyimba.

Aigbogun has been without a job since he left the People's Elephants - a team he failed to take beyond the Caf Champions League group stage in 2016.

His return marks his third stint with the Aba-based outfit, where he previously worked as assistant coach to Salisu Yusuf in 2013 and came back three-year later before he was replaced by erstwhile coach Gbenga Ogunbote.

"Enyimba Football Club has reappointed Paul Aigbogun as Technical Adviser of the club," said the club in a statement.

"His appointment takes effect immediately after formal contract papers were signed on Wednesday in a meeting with the club's management."

And club's chairman Felix Anyansi explained his leadership's decision to bring back the former Warri Wolves gaffer ahead of the new 2018 Nigerian season.

"There have been strong speculations concerning our coaching staff, lots of names have been thrown, but Enyimba has never been an organisation to conduct our operations on the pages of newspapers or on social media," said Anyansi.

"We are a very meticulous club that works diligently and quietly to achieve only the best results. We have appointed Coach Paul and have made the announcement now, so too would we make other announcements at the appropriate times.

"I urge our fans to be patient and understanding. We are working very hard, as we always do, to ensure next season is a successful one for all of us," he concluded.

With the People's Elephant competing in next year's Caf Confederation Cup, Aigbogun will be hoping to power the side to a success in the local scene and continental campaign.
