Colombia reached the last eight of the competition in Brazil four years ago and after a testing qualifying stage, they will be out to make sure they put in another good showing.
A relatively straightforward group stage consisting of Japan, Poland and Senegal means the knockout stages will be a minimum for Jose Pekerman's men, but they will have their sights on replicating their 2014 success.
2018 World Cup Qualification
South American qualifying was incredibly nail-biting for most teams involved, and after winning just seven of their 17 matches, it came down to the final day for Colombia.
After taking the lead against Peru, Colombia conceded with 13 minutes to go to settle for a 1-1 draw. Fortunately for them, though, both Chile and Paraguay lost so Los Cafeteros took the last automatic qualifying spot.
The mere 21 goals they scored was the worst of any South American side that made it to Russia, whilst the 19 goals they shipped was the third-best in the 10-team group.
Tournament History
Although Colombia have played in five World Cups before now, 2014's run was by far their best.
Indeed, that is the only time they won more than a one game in a single tournament so far, thanks in small part to James Rodriguez's six goals across the five matches his side played in.
