Betting Tips for Today: A 7/1 Championship treble featuring Leeds United

From a footballing perspective 2019 looks set to start with a bang for punters focusing on the UK.

While many European counties are enjoying a winter break, the relentless schedule in England continues with a busy Football League coupon as well as three top tier clashes to start the year.

We've picked out a treble which currently pays 7/1 (8.0) with 888Sport and features the Championship leaders who will be looking to bounce back from a first defeat in eight games.

Derby County vs Middlesbrough - Both Teams to Score

Derby were one of the sides well-fancied for a decent chance at promotion this season under new boss Frank Lampard. The Rams are meeting, rather than exceeding expectations as they sit inside the play-off places but nine points off the top of the table.

Going forward Derby have had few problems, but clean sheets have been an issue for the hosts of late. They've only kept out their opposition once in the last eight games at the iPro Stadium.

Although Middlesbrough aren't the most prolific side in the second tier, they should have enough to make their mark given they've only failed to score once in their last eight league games on the road.

Hull City vs Bolton - Hull to win

They may only be 14th in the Championship table but Hull City look the team to watch for a charge in the second half of the campaign. Although still nine points off the top seven, five wins from six games including an impressive 2-0 display against table-topping Leeds United last time out makes them a solid bet against struggling Bolton Wanderers.

The visitors sit just outside the relegation places and have tasted defeat six times away from home this term. On five of those occasions they failed to score, and an in-form Hull side look too strong given their recent form.

Nottingham Forest vs Leeds United - Leeds to win

While many punters would have had expected Leeds to get the better of Hull, their defeat to the resurgent Tigers shouldn't scare off backers of Marcelo Bielsa's side at the City Ground.

Leeds have passed plenty of tricky tests on the road this term including wins at Norwich, Derby and most recently Aston Villa, all of whom all sit inside the top 10 of the division.

Forest on the other hand are winless in five league games, failing to score in four of those and this looks a fantastic opportunity to get the Championship leaders onside as part of this 7/1 (8.0) treble for New Year's Day.
