Chelsea v Arsenal Betting: Conte's men to tighten their grip on the title

Despite dropping two points against Liverpool, Chelsea extended their advantage at the top of the Premier League table on Tuesday night.

The Blues led at half-time at Anfield before being pegged back by Georginio Wijnaldum's second half strike, while Chelsea striker Diego Costa saw a penalty kick saved by Simon Mignolet with just 14 minutes remaining.

It was only the second time in 17 Premier League matches that the west Londoners have failed to take all three points but Conte's charges are well-fancied to bounce back in the best possible way.

Chelsea are chalked up as Paddy Power's even money (2.0)favourites to achieve that objective and that selection may well prove popular with punters, for Chelsea have come out on top in each of their last 10 matches on home turf.

Arsenal's ambition of claiming their first Premier League title in 13 years suffered a setback in midweek as the Gunners slumped to a damaging 2-1 home defeat against Watford.

As a result, the north Londoners are nine points adrift of the Blues and Arsene Wenger will be acutely aware that his side have no further room for error; Arsenal are available at 13/5 (3.60) to get their campaign firmly back on track by winning this one, with 9/4 (3.25)that both sides are forced to settle for a share of the spoils.

Wenger's men will take heart from a hugely impressive 3-0 win against Conte's side when these teams locked horns in north London in September, but the Blues have been beaten in just one of their 17 Premier League matches since; furthermore, Chelsea have been the dominant force in this fixture down the years, winning six of the last seven encounters between the sides in west London.

There is plenty of potential for goals when the rivalry is renewed; Chelsea have scored in each of their 14 home matches so far this season, while the Gunners have found the net in each of their previous 16 ties on their travels.

8/11 (1.73) is offered that more than two goals are scored in this game, with  8/13 (1.62)available that both teams find the target - a selection that would have seen punters profit from six of Arsenal's last seven league games away from home.

Punters, though, should snap up the generous quote for the Blues to further extend their impressive run of results at Stamford Bridge by taking maximum points from this match; the selection would have paid dividends in all but one of Chelsea's last seven home games against the Gunners and at even money (2.0), the price on offer is worthy of support once again this weekend.
