    WHAT HAPPENED?

The Liverpudlian has previously detailed his intense dislike of hangovers and his ambivalent attitude to alcohol in general but let his hair down when co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney funded a post-season trip to Sin City for Wrexham's promotion-winning squad.

Payback, though, was brutal after three days of non-stop partying on the Las Vegas strip.

    WHAT MULLIN SAID

Wrexham's talismanic striker takes up the story in his recently released book My Wrexham Story.

"By 2am, I was done. Finally, after three solid days, I’d hit the wall. I was put in a car, taken to the hotel and put in the lift, and once I’d found my room I fell into bed. I woke up the next day in an absolute state. I hoped a dip in the hotel pool might ease me back into the land of the living. A few splashes later I realised that really wasn’t going to work. Instead, I went off to find an IV drip. I was clearly massively dehydrated and needed sorting out.

"Sadly that didn’t do the job either, and on the bus to that last day’s pool party, at the Tao Beach, a Venetian-style hotel and casino, I really did think I was going to throw up. We were literally about to park outside when a load of tourists started idling across the road. This really wasn’t what I needed. A delay could be catastrophic, both for me and the bus’s upholstery. ‘Get out of the way! Get out of the way!’ I was going to erupt at any moment. Thankfully for all concerned, the road cleared and I was able to leap from the doors and gulp in several big lungfuls of fresh air."

From being stitched up by paparazzi to drunkenly turning up late for dinner with Hollywood stars it seems the squad had a trip to remember.
