Stanley Nwabali's late howler helped TS Galaxy secure a 1-0 win over Chippa United in Saturday night's Premier Soccer League match at Mbombela Stadium.

The Nigeria international's poor throw was intercepted by former Dinamo Zagreb attacking midfielder Damir Sovsic, who then quickly beat Nwabali with an exquisite strike in the 80th minute and it proved to be the only goal of the match.

The disappointing defeat left Chippa placed 11th in the league standings, having accumulated 18 points from 15 matches.

Coach Thabo September is expected to keep his faith in Nwabali, the club's captain and number-one goalkeeper.

The 28-year-old lost both parents within two months.

Nwabali, who has kept four clean sheets in 14 league matches this season, will be keen to redeem himself in Chippa's next game.

The Chilli Boys will be away to a revitalised Kaizer Chiefs side on February 15 in the Nedbank Cup.
