McKennie came off in 89th minute
Player subjected to chants
Not the first incident
WHAT HAPPENED?
McKennie was substituted in the 89th minute of Juventus' victory over Lazio in the first leg of their semi-final, in which he assisted Dusan Vlahovic's goal. On his way off, he was subjected to chants from sections of the crowd. It is unclear which fanbase was responsible at this point.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
This is not an isolated incident for McKennie or Italian football as a whole. In November of last year, Fiorentina were hit with a suspended partial stadium ban after racist abuse of the USMNT star, as well as team-mates Vlahovic and Moise Kean.

WHAT NEXT FOR MCKENNIE, JUVENTUS AND LAZIO?
It is yet to be determined whether either club will face sanctions for the alleged abuse but it is an issue that Italian football must take action on.
