The Liverpool defender celebrated his 26th birthday while on England duty ahead of their Nations League fixtures over the coming week. At the Three Lions' base at St George's Park, Real Madrid ace Bellingham helped put together a birthday surprise for his good pal Trent - with the former jumping out at the latter when called down to see what was in store for him.

  • WHAT BELLINGHAM SAID

Behind a big cut-out of Trent, Bellingham was ready to pounce on his England team-mate.

In the clip, the former Borussia Dortmund star was heard saying: "[I've been waiting] about 20 minutes. He just text me saying he's coming."

When Arsenal's Bukayo Saka came into view and asked what was going on, Bellingham replied: "Trying to scare Trent. We've been planning it all morning."

When Trent finally appeared, Bellingham jumped out from his hiding place and tried to startle him, before laughing. The pair embraced and posed for a photo, too.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The pair will hope to help England in their Nations League games against Greece and Finland. The Three Lions have won both of their matches so far, as have Greece, so they will want to beat Ivan Jovanovic's team to try and come top of their group.

  • WHAT NEXT?

Lee Carsley's side resume their Nations League duties on Thursday when they host Greece in a battle for top spot in their group. They then travel to Finland on Sunday to round off this international break.
