  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Gattuso is known for his hot temper and it was on show again after his Hajduk Split team lost a top-of-the-table clash with Rijeka. • WHAT GATTUSO SAID

Gattuso said to Jelecic: "I won't give an answer to you, you speak too much. You used to play football, you should understand, you know very well the situation. But you always speak very bad. I don't have respect for you. You speak very bad. I don't want to speak with you."

Jelicic responded by saying in Spanish: "You played very bad!" which prompted another angry response from Gattuso who said: "You have to have respect for people."
A shouting match then ensued with Gattuso eventually signing off with: "This is the last time. If you are here, I won't talk to you anymore, because you are a bad person."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Gattuso was known as a tenacious but talented midfielder during a stellar playing career that brought Serie A and Champions League titles with Milan as well as the World Cup with Italy. The Italian has since embarked on a managerial career and enjoyed spells at clubs including Marseille, Napoli, Valencia and Milan before arriving in Croatia in 2024. Gattuso's passion for the game clearly remains as strong as ever as he bids to win his first trophy with Hajduk Split.
