England put in a devastating performance in the first half of their Women's Nations League clash with Portugal on Friday, racing into a 5-0 lead inside 30 minutes thanks to Aggie Beever-Jones' hat-trick alongside strikes from Lucy Bronze and Beth Mead.

Should they complete the formalities in the second half and beat Portugal, England will have the chance to top their Nations League group when they take on Spain on Tuesday next week. The Lionesses won the last meeting between the sides in February, when a strike from Jess Park was enough to secure victory.

Beever-Jones' efficiency in front of goal helped her become just the second woman to score a hat-trick at Wembley for England, the other being Mead when the Arsenal star bagged a treble against Northern Ireland in 2021.

England will hope to qualify for the Nations League finals, but Euro 2025 is right around the corner and manager Sarina Wiegman will soon pick her squad as the Lionesses' seek to defend their crown. Beever-Jones' hat-trick will have done her selection hopes no harm, while other stars are hoping to make an impact to book their seats on the plane to Switzerland.
