  • Midfielder has made one appearance for Cherries
  • Hamstring problem required surgery
  • Still some way off making a return to action
  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The United States international midfielder has been restricted to just one substitute appearance since joining the Cherries from Leeds during the summer transfer window. An unfortunate injury forced him under the knife, with a long road to recovery being taken in since then.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

There were suggestions that Adams could return to action in January, offering him reasons to be cheerful in the New Year, but Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola has suggested that will not be the case – with Adams and fellow injury victim Alex Scott some way off forcing their way back into contention.

  • WHAT IRAOLA SAID ABOUT ADAMS

Iraola told the Daily Echo when asked if Adams and Scott could be at his disposal in early 2024: “They are still far from playing, but I think Alex should be quicker than Tyler probably, because of the surgery of Tyler. But I think they are feeling well. They are progressing, but they are not close to being with us.”

    WHAT NEXT FOR ADAMS?

Bournemouth splashed out £23 million ($29m) on Adams and have seen little return on that investment so far. The 24-year-old – who suffered relegation out of the Premier League while on the books at Leeds last season – has not made a top-flight appearance in English football since March 11.
