  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Balogun will need to remain "calm" on the pitch too due to a drop in form after a spectacular 2022-23 season where he scored 22 goals in 39 appearances. His returns have dwindled in this campaign as he has managed to find the net just eight times in 30 appearances across competitions.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Despite Balogun's dip in productivity, Monaco are second in the league standings and another victory would see them finish as runners-up to Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1. The top three sides qualify directly for the Champions League group stage for the next season and Monaco should be among them.

    WHAT NEXT?

Balogun is on a five-game goal drought in the French domestic league. He will be hoping to find the net in Monaco's final two games, against Montpellier and Nantes respectively, to force himself into Gregg Berhalter's plans for the Copa America that is set to be hosted by the USA. If he indeed scores in both games it would also take his scoring tally to double digits for the season.
