    WHAT TERZIC SAID

He said: "With both of them [Sebastien Haller and Gio Reyna], it's about trying to increase their playing time. We've shown that everyone gets their chances. Then they have to seize them with both hands. Haller has a special situation He will be an important factor tomorrow before he departs for the Africa Cup. With Gio, we know how much talent he possesses. He clearly sees himself in the number 10 position – just like Julian Brandt and Marco Reus. The three are competing for positions. Gio still has many aspects to work on to become a more complete player."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Reyna has struggled for regular and consistent playing time under Terzic this season since returning from injury, despite positive showings on the international stage with the USMNT. The midfielder has made just 10 appearances so far this season, with no goals or assists to show for it. Tuesday presents an opportunity for the young midfielder, but also for Terzic, who has been under fire of late for his management in the Bundesliga.
