    WHAT HAPPENED?

    Nigeria dominated the first half, racing to a commanding 3-0 lead thanks to clinical finishes from Osinachi Ohale, Esther Okoronkwo and Chinwendu Ihezuo. 

    Despite the Copper Queens’ attempts to find rhythm and fight back in the second half, their hopes were dealt a further blow when Oluwatosin Demehin calmly added a fourth goal, sealing Nigeria’s control of the match.

    The Super Falcons went on to secure their spot in Tuesday's semi-final clash when Folashade Ijamilusi added their fifth goal.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

    The Super Falcons are on a mission in their quest to reclaim the continental crown. In the group stage, they flew past the competition in Group B, collecting seven points from their three games. 

    They began their campaign with a 3-0 victory over Tunisia before edging Botswana 1-0. They secured top spot in their group with a goalless draw against Algeria.
