    THE BIGGER PICTURE

After a mixed spell in Berlin, Gosens has found form at the Serie A club. The left wing-back has recorded six goals and nine assists in 39 competitive appearances this season, helping his side challenge for a European spot in Serie A and reach the last four of the Europa Conference League.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

The 30-year-old joined Union Berlin from Inter Milan in the summer of 2023 for €13 million, aiming to boost his chances of making Germany’s Euro 2024 squad. However, following a disappointing season in which Union narrowly avoided relegation, Gosens was not selected by national team coach Julian Nagelsmann for the tournament. He was also left out of the squad for Germany’s Nations League quarter-final against Italy in March. He eventually ended up moving on loan to Fiorentina in August 2024 and is now set to stay in Italy, having previously played for Atalanta.
