    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Bompastor has proved herself to be a worthy successor to legendary coach Emma Hayes, under whose tutelage the club enjoyed tremendous success. Since replacing Hayes at the helm, the former Lyon player and coach has guided the team to victory in every single game they have played in the 2024-25 campaign across all competitions. After Saturday's win over their title rivals, the 44-year-old coach revealed what she told her players to motivate them to clinch a comfortable victory.

  • WHAT SONIA BOMPASTOR SAID

Speaking at her post-match press conference, the French manager said: "We want to enjoy it and this is what I told my players before the game. Maybe we have the best job in the world being players and a manager, so tonight was an opportunity for us to put our hearts on the pitch and enjoy it because we are playing at home at Stamford Bridge, with fans coming and against a really good team. I just want to enjoy the win, the three points and we continue our run."
