  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    A group of supporters spotted Ratcliffe in a car leaving Craven Cottage after the 1-0 win and tore into the billionaire for raising the price of tickets at Old Trafford in the middle of the season. United raised season ticket prices and then in the middle of the campaign announced that all remaining tickets for Premier League matches would be priced at £66, with no concessions for children or over-65s.

    "£66 - what are you doing? You're taking the p**s. Worse than the Glazers," said the group of supporters to Ratcliffe. The INEOS chief initially opened the car window to listen to them, thinking they wanted a picture. Upon hearing the abuse, he quickly closed the window.

    United's travelling support at Fulham voiced their disapproval at the club's recent warning about the possibility of raising ticket prices even further next season in order to ease pressure from the Premier League's Profitability and Sustainability rules (PSR).

    Supporter unrest towards the co-owner came on the same day that Britain's Labour government announced its backing for United's plans to build a brand new 100,000-seater stadium on the same site as Old Trafford.
