'Sorry but SACK ARTETA!' - Arsenal fans call for manager's head & rivals take aim at 'full Stoke' tactics as another trophyless season beckons after Champions League semi-final heartbreak at hands of PSG

Goals from Fabian Ruiz and Achraf Hakimi fired the French side to a 2-0 lead in the second leg of the semi-final tie in Paris before Bukayo Saka pulled one back for the Gunners. The north London side had chances to pull level, but were unable to claw their way back into the tie and crashed out with a 3-1 aggregate defeat.

The defeat means Arsenal will again finish the season without a trophy, having also failed in their efforts to win the Premier League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup, and many of the club's fans are losing patience with the Spanish coach.

One fan, @AtwoliiYa, wrote on social media: "Arteta failed to sign a [centre-forward] in January here are the outcomes. We create chances but no one is there to score. Tropyless again am so disappointed in my club. Sorry but SACK ARTETA. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH ."

That point was echoed by @121Clueless, who said: "Arteta is the problem. Arsenal should sack him immediately. He's clearly not capable of getting Arsenal a trophy."

@PrinceKp87 said: "Arteta out. I want him sacked immediately after this game. Yet again played Odegaard and kept him on also. Been invisible all night. Get him the f*ck out of this club @Arsenal #ArtetaOut time for Berta to show some balls. Get this fraud gone now enough is enough. Bottle job."

"Arteta lost a game to a throw-in routine and it became his tactic in a semi-final. Even Mourinho didn’t go full Stoke this early in this career," wrote @u_Thato.

@IbkSports said: "I don’t want to hear next season again, Arteta has done enough and can’t take us further."

@Odd_Legal added: "Arteta has spoilt Saka’s game. We all saw Lamine Yamal yesterday. They are not on the same level. It’s sad to admit."

Arsenal have now lost three games in a row and will hope to end that run when they meet Premier League champions Liverpool at the weekend.
