    WHAT HAPPENED?

Pulisic connected with his former Chelsea teammate to score the opening goal for Milan in a 4-1 victory over the Turin side back in August 2023. The USMNT forward ran in at the back post to push a low cross from Loftus-Cheek at the back of the net to hand the Rossoneri the lead just after the half-hour mark.

  • WHAT LOFTUS-CHEEK SAID ABOUT PULISIC

Loftus-Cheek hailed his chemistry with Pulisic and said: "After playing so long with Christian, I know what he likes to do and where he likes the ball. We have a good connection. Especially at the start of the season, we were both playing on the right side. It is a joy to play with him.

"I think you can see in some of the clips this season that we have a good connection and we are dangerous on the right side. After giving me the pass he has not stopped and he has run into the box to try and score. So, yeah, it is a great goal, that goal."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

It was Pulisic's second consecutive game with a goal for Milan. In achieving this feat, Pulisic joined an elite group of players who have scored in their first two Serie A games for Milan in the three points-for-a-win era, which includes notable names like Oliver Bierhoff, Andriy Shevchenko, Mario Balotelli, and Jeremy Menez.

    WHAT NEXT?

Pulisic has been in fine form for Milan this season with seven goals and six assists in 29 appearances. He will be looking to add to his tally when Stefano Pioli leads his troops against Napoli at San Siro on Sunday in a Serie A fixture. They are eight points behind leaders Inter, who have a match in hand and can ill afford to slip up to keep alive their Scudetto hopes.
