    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Phil Parkinson’s side have endured the odd wobble over recent weeks, and were in danger of dropping more precious points during a trip to Colchester. They trailed that game 1-0 early in the second half, but battled back to claim a dramatic victory courtesy of Paul Mullin’s 100th goal for the club and a late winner from Max Cleworth.

  • WHAT COWLEY SAID ABOUT WREXHAM

There were plenty of smiles in the Wrexham camp at the final whistle, but Cowley has told The Daily Gazette of how Colchester had the Welsh outfit rattled during a nervy encounter between two sides battling at opposing ends of the division: “Do you know what – at half-time, they were fighting between themselves in our tunnel, because we stood up to them. We’d really competed with them and they had no answer and they’re a good team with really good players. But they win two ways – they win through bullying you or through individual brilliance. That’s the two ways that they win. We just needed to keep playing but we didn’t.”

    WHAT NEXT FOR WREXHAM?

Wrexham have cemented a second-placed standing in the League Two table, four points adrift of leaders Stockport, and have four games left to take in this season – with Hollywood co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney hoping to have another trip to Las Vegas to plan this summer.
