Revealed: How 20-goal Jude Bellingham has left Real Madrid team-mates stunned in debut campaign after €103m transfer

The England international made his way to Santiago Bernabeu during the summer of 2023 as a €103 million (£88m/$110m) deal with Borussia Dortmund was put in place. He was expected to add graft and guile to the Blancos’ engine room, but has exceeded all expectations in Spain.

Bellingham is a Kopa Trophy and Golden Boy winner, with his quality coming as no surprise, but the end product added to his game in Madrid has raised a few eyebrows. Bellingham has also registered 10 assists across all competitions this season, reaching double figures in two key departments, and is considered to be as creative and important to the Real cause as Brazilian forward Vinicius Junior. Camavinga added when asked to pick out Madrid’s best playmakers: “Best technical players at Real Madrid? I’d say Vini & Jude Bellingham.”

Real are on course to land the Liga title in 2023-24, as they sit eight points clear of the chasing pack, and are also looking to savour Champions League glory in Bellingham’s debut campaign – with a quarter-final clash with Manchester City in that competition currently locked at 3-3 heading into the second leg at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday.
