Mexico international striker Santiago Giménez praised coach Javier “Vasco” Aguirre and his staff for reshaping the team’s ethos during the 2025 Gold Cup.
“We’ve built a strong family with Aguirre’s leadership. With all his experience and our respect for him, he’s brought back our Mexican identity and given fans someone to connect with,” Giménez said.
Despite not scoring in the tournament, the AC Milan forward has remained composed, emphasizing that the team’s success comes first.
“That’s not our concern. Whether it’s Raúl [Jimenez], [Ángel] Sepúlveda, [Alexis] Vega, or me up front, we all know whoever has the moment will score - and we’ll celebrate together," he said. "We’re all united under the same flag, holding hands toward our goal: winning.”
