  • Red Devils on worst run of defeats in 97 years
  • They haven't scored for four matches
  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The miserable loss to David Moyes' side was United's 13th defeat in all competitions this season, their highest number before Christmas in any campaign since 1930-31, when United finished bottom of the old First Division.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

United looked like they might be turning a corner after last week's 0-0 draw at Liverpool but they looked back to their worst at the London Stadium. The Red Devils were utterly toothless in attack while Andre Onana and Kobbie Mainoo made costly errors to gift Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus a goal each on the second half.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

The defeat at West Ham was the fourth game in a row United have failed to score in. It is their worst run without a goal since November 1992 under Sir Alex Ferguson.

    WHAT NEXT FOR MAN UTD?

United should be bracing themselves for even more pain when they host Aston Villa in their next game on December 26. Erik ten Hag will hope to have Raphael Varane back from illness while Christian Eriksen could start against Unai Emery's side after making his comeback from injury with a late substitute's appearance.
