    WHAT HAPPENED?

The Blaugranas played spectacular football to pick up their fourth triumph in five league matches to climb to the second place in the table, leapfrogging their Catalan rivals Girona. Despite a slow start, Raphinha's 20th-minute goal set the tone for the home side. Three additional goals in the second half from Joao Felix, Frenkie de Jong and Fermin Lopez sealed a comfortable victory for the hosts. Xavi was ecstatic afterwards and asserted that he remains optimistic about their chances of conquering Spain once again beating fierce rivals Madrid to the title.

  • WHAT XAVI SAID

Speaking on Barcelona's title chances, Xavi told reporters: "I think it's early, but yes. We don't throw in the towel. From the last 15 points we have 13, we have to believe until the end. I think there may be options to win the league. We put pressure on Girona and Madrid. We have to do our homework. We always believe in what we are doing. I think we will meet again at home. We were missing a good game at home. In the Champions League, everything is open, it will be heads or tails, and we are on time."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Xavi was impressed with his team's performance and hailed his troops for their ability to exploit spaces and match their opponent's intensity.

He added: "Happy for many things. It's a very complete game in attack and defence. We matched their intensity and we knew how to go into space many times. We knew how to get out of Getafe's high pressure. It was a convincing game for the team."
