  • Hojlund remains goalless after nine Premier League games

  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The Danish striker was signed by the Red Devils for a reported £72 million ($92m) fee. Since the big-money transfer, Hojlund has blown hot and cold for Erik ten Hag. He has failed to find the net in nine Premier League outings, but has been firing on all cylinders in the Champions League with five goals in four games.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Hojlund was in terrific form against FC Copenhagen and scored a brace against his former employers which saw him become the first-ever United player to score five goals in his first four Champions League matches. The feat also sealed his place as the youngest player (20 years and 277 days) to net twice in a European top-flight away fixture for the Red Devils.

  • WHAT HENRIK LARSSON SAID ABOUT RASMUS HOJLUND

Larsson kept a close eye on Hojlund during United's visit to Parken Stadium earlier in November which ended in a disappointing 4-3 defeat. Assessing the striker's performance he said to the club's official website: "I liked what I saw. He is a striker with some speed. He was willing to go beyond the opponents’ back four or back three, however, you want to see it. It’s early to say, but he looks interesting because physically, there is a presence about him. It's going to take some time before he settles in. He's new to the club and getting used to the other players. But hopefully, for United, he can be a good striker.”

  • WHAT NEXT FOR HOJLUND AND MANCHESTER UNITED?

Hojlund had to be replaced by Anthony Martial against Luton Town which forced him to withdraw from the Denmark squad that was due to face Slovenia and Northern Ireland. The club announced that the striker has a muscle sprain which could potentially sideline him until the end of November. This means that the former Atalanta hitman is likely to miss the trip to Everton on Sunday.
