'World of football has gone nuts!' - Oasis star Noel Gallagher joins commentary team for Man City's Champions League clash with Sporting CP to anger of viewers

City travelled to Lisbon to face Sporting on Tuesday, and TNT Sports decided to bring in Oasis star Gallagher on commentary.

One of the highlights of Gallagher's commentary came when he shared insights into Pep Guardiola’s future with the club. With the Spaniard's contract running out in 2025, there have been speculations about whether he would sign an extension with the Manchester outfit. The guitarist and co-vocalist called Guardiola a "good friend" and shared his belief that the manager will "stay for one more year" with the English champions.

Adding a personal touch to the evening, Gallagher’s handwriting was displayed on City’s jerseys during the match. The City players donned shirts bearing Gallagher’s hand-scripted names and numbers, creating a distinct and stylish look. In addition to his handwritten font, Gallagher also contributed to designing a special-edition kit in tribute to the 30th anniversary of Oasis’s groundbreaking album Definitely Maybe. Dubbed the “Definitely City” kit, this retro-inspired attire celebrates Gallagher’s musical roots and connection to Manchester. The kit debuted in City’s Champions League opener against Inter and will be worn during select European fixtures this season.

Following their continental fixture in Lisbon, City will be back in action against Brighton on Saturday in the Premier League.
