Forest have already made four first-team additions to their squad this summer, and manager Nuno Espirito Santo's side is now looking to add a fifth in the midfield. Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz has been a name mentioned, but Musah is also now a player they are looking at. Bologna’s Dan Ndoye, Botafogo duo Igor Jesus and Jair Cunha, and goalkeeper Angus Gunn have all signed otherwise.
Milan, meanwhile, is beginning a new era this season under the leadership of Max Allegri. They also appointed a new sporting director in Igli Tare, who spoke on Musah earlier this summer, praising him but suggesting he might not be a fit under Allegri.
“I consider Musah an excellent player, but we are looking for profiles with characteristics that fit the project we have with coach Allegri," he explained. “We are seeking deep-lying midfielders for a three-man midfield. Musah doesn’t have these characteristics. He can play in a two or three-man midfield but with different characteristics. This is the real reason why we want to do something different.”
