The Super Eagles have climbed up three places globally to 36th and they are also fourth in the continent following the recent 2025 Afcon qualifiers.
They secured a 1-0 win over Libya at home earlier this month and the return match was cancelled after the Super Eagles were stranded in a Libya airport.
Nigeria's arch-rivals, Ghana have dropped three places to the 73rd spot and they are also placed 14th in Africa after registering a draw and a defeat against Sudan.

AND WHAT IS MORE
Thatayaone Ditlhokwe's Botswana accumulated more points (+38.3) than any other team or country in the world in the FIFA rankings.
This comes after the Kaizer Chiefs defender led the Zebras to back-to-back wins over 72nd-ranked Cape Verde earlier this month.
The Zebras moved up from 147th to their new position (140th).

WHAT NEXT?
Nigeria and Botswana will also qualify for the Afcon finals if they win their next matches in November.
The Super Eagles will be away to Benin, while the Zebras host Mauritania.
Ghana, on the other hand, can only qualify if they beat Niger and Angola, and other results go their way.
