Neal Maupay wanted at Marseille to link up with Mason Greenwood in attack after Ligue 1 side suffer major injury blow

Per L’Equipe, the Ligue 1 giants are keen on signing Everton's Maupay on loan as they want the Frenchman to link up with Mason Greenwood in their attack. The 28-year-old is entering the final year of his contract with the Toffees. He had spent the last season on loan at Brentford.

Marseille are in search of attacking options after Faris Moumbagna ruptured his ACL and has been sidelined on a long-term basis. The French club have prepared a shortlist of forwards and Maupay has been placed at the top of the priority list.

The former Nice youth product was included in Sean Dyche's matchday squad as the Merseyside club faced Brighton, however, the attacker did not come on the pitch as the Toffees went down 3-0 in their season opener.

Roberto De Zerbi's side began their 2024-25 campaign with a thumping 5-1 win over Brest on August 17. They will next take on Reims in Ligue 1 on Sunday.
