  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    According to Gianluca Dimarzio, Napoli are eyeing a move for a new striker to bolster their attack ahead of the 2025-26 campaign. They have put several strikers on their shortlist, including Udinese's Lorenzo Lucca, but Nunez remains a priority for the Italian champions.

    The report adds that Napoli have launched a bid worth €50m plus €5m in bonuses for the Uruguayan forward and are also offering €5m to €6m in wages to the player. The amount that the club would need to spend on Nunez is almost double what Lucca would cost them but the Serie A giants have reportedly made the Reds star their first-choice target.

    The South American forward is open to a move away from Anfield this summer after slipping down the pecking order in the attack. Nunez is said to be eager to work with Antonio Conte in Italy, meaning it's now down to the two clubs to strike an agreement.
